Positron Public Safety Systems Continues Expansion in Latin America:
Shares in US$5 Million Ecuadorian Award

Montreal, New York, & Guayaquil, Ecuador, September 10, 2007

The Corporation of Public Security for Citizens of Guayaquil (Corporación Para La Seguridad Ciudadana de Guayaquil – CSCG) has awarded Unión Eléctrica, a prominent system integrator in Ecuador, a contract, valued nearly US$5 million, to design and install CSCG’s newest E9-1-1 center based solely on Positron’s full suite of call handling and desktop dispatch solutions throughout Guayaquil, Ecuador’s most populated and industrialized city.

The award calls for Unión Eléctrica to construct the E9-1-1 facilities, install and maintain over 200 closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras throughout the city, and integrate Positron’s full suite of Power products: Power 911®, Power CAD®, Power MAP®, Power MIS®, Power AVL™, Power RADIO™, and Positron Sentry™.

CSCG required a fully integrated, leading-edge desktop solution for its 25 call takers, 35 dispatchers and fleet of 500 cars and motorcycles. One key benefit of the integration was the ability to provide dispatchers live CCTV access onto their Positron-based desktop dispatch screens.

“Our objective is to provide the best possible quality of life to our citizens”, stated Gustavo Zuñiga, President of CSCG. “To achieve this, we required the best technology, the best integration, and the best service available in the industry. The Positron – Unión Eléctrica team provided us real integration and went the extra mile to demonstrate interoperability of live CCTV, enabling the dispatchers to click, locate and view live video feeds onto real-time based local maps. The level of service they provided was bar none. We are pleased that the security of our citizens is in the hands of such Public Safety industry leaders.”

“We are excited to welcome CSCG, Guayaquil, Ecuador to our family of international customers.” said Doug Roberts, Vice-President and General Manager of Positron Public Safety Systems. “Ecuador now becomes our eighth Latin American country win, demonstrating our unwavering commitment to the Latin American market and continued worldwide expansion of our integrated command and control solutions.”
